Spiral lines or S-shaped cracks in the blank
06-24
Spiral pattern andS-shaped crack refers to the large surface of the solid brick like a lot of concentric elliptical cracks, or S-shaped parallel curve cracks, are waste products. As the mud material is pushed forward by the spiral reamer blade in the extruder', the advancing speed of each point of the cross section is different, always the middle is fast and the periphery is slow, this speed difference tears the advancing mud material into several layers, these layered mud material is wrapped into "flower rolls" when rotating with the spiral reamer, and the adjacent two layers of mud material are filled with air and extruded water, and are not bonded into a whole, spiral lines or S-shaped cracks appear.
This problem is easily found when the brick blank is cut out. The method is to take the thinner waste blank cut out by the cutting machine at both ends when cutting out the mud strip, and break off its four corners by hand. For example, the broken parts are all circular arcs, and the section is smooth, it is spiral orS-shaped crack no doubt, should be treated as waste.
The fundamental solution is to increase the coarse particles of the mud, that is, the grain size of the mud.The percentage of filling particles of 0.05~1.2mm, especially the percentage of angular particles, clay is fine, and clay bricks are prone to spiral grain. Coal gangue, hard shale, mud particles are coarse and all angular particles, so coal gangue bricks and shale bricks basically have no spiral grain. The paper is smooth, a pile of paper can be easily drawn out, while a pile of towels cannot be drawn out. If fly ash, slag, coal gangue or waste brick are properly mixed into clay or soft shale clay, these angular clay materials can bite each other and reduce the layering of clay materials, spiral lines or S-shaped cracks will be eliminated.
